The Children’s Liturgy of the Word program is  available at both the 9:45AM and 11:30AM   liturgies for grades K-2.  Children  accompany their families into the liturgy and are  dismissed to the Spirit Center before the 1st  reading, where they learn about God’s Word on  their own level.

No pre-registration is required for Children’s Liturgy of the Word and visitors are welcome to attend!

FAQ’s

What does Children’s Ministry look like?

All Children – whether they are visitors or parishioners are welcomed to attend our Children’s Ministry! Children ages 2yrs–5yrs are dropped off before mass at the Spirit Center for our Mini Disciples Program, while older children (K–2nd grade) will accompany their families to Mass and be dismissed to Children’s Liturgy of the Word prior to the 1st reading.

Mini Disciples remain in the Spirit Center for the duration of Mass while Young Apostles will return before the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Parents are encouraged to let our ministry team know where they intend to sit so that they can be located if assistance is needed for their child.

What is the purpose of Children’s Ministry?

Our Children’s ministry serves 2 purposes:

  1. Teach children the Word of God & let them know that God loves them and has a plan for their life.
  2. Invite parents to worship at Mass knowing their children are receiving age-appropriate catechesis that will build up their faith and encourage them in full, conscious, active participation in the liturgy when they are older.

What do you offer for Babies/Toddlers/2’s?

Babies & Toddlers are always welcome to celebrate the liturgy with the entire community.  This is main reason we don’t have a cry room!  If babies do become too fussy, parents can always go to the Narthex where the family restroom and couches are located.

What do you offer for Preschoolers & Kindergarteners?

Preschoolers & Kindergarteners (2yr-5yr olds) worship in Mini Disciples program in the main room of the Spirit Center. There is no previous sign up or payment required.  Visitors and non-parishioners are welcome!

What do you offer during Mass for Elementary Kids (grades 1–4)?

Our Children’s Liturgy of the Word program is specially geared towards this age group.  Children begin in the church with their families, leave for the Children’s Liturgy of the Word, and return before Communion (Liturgy of the Eucharist). There is no previous sign up or payment required.  Visitors are welcome!
